Jan Hruška (cyclist)
Jan Hruška (born February 4, 1975 in Uničov ) is a former Czech cyclist .
Athletic career
Hruška became a professional cyclist in 1997 with the Australian team ZVVZ-Giant-Australian Institute of Sport . He was considered a good time trial. His first major success came at the 2000 Giro d'Italia when he won the prologue and another time trial. In 2003 he switched to ONCE , which was renamed Liberty Seguros a year later . There he was able to win a stage of the Vuelta a La Rioja . In 2004 he took part in the Tour de France and finished it in 117th place overall. In 2006 he finished fourth overall at the Tour of Murcia and clinched overall victory at the Clásica Alcobendas with his final day's victory in the time trial.
doping
In 2000, after the Grand Prix de Llodio , Hruška tested positive for taking the active ingredient nandrolone and was banned for six months because of doping.
