Jan Tilman Kirchhoff (born October 1, 1990 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German soccer player .
Career
societies
Youth in Frankfurt and Mainz
Kirchhoff began at the Sports Club Kickers 1916 in Frankfurt playing football and in 1999 in the E-youth of Eintracht Frankfurt . There he was very successful at the beginning, was team captain , but then lost touch from the C-youth . Finally, at the age of 17, he switched to the youth training center of 1. FSV Mainz 05 . He quickly made his breakthrough there after moving from midfield to central defense.
Due to several failures, Jørn Andersen , at the time coach of the Mainz second division team, resorted to the U19 player on the eleventh match day in the central defense; Kirchhoff played 90 minutes in the 2-0 away win against Rot Weiss Ahlen on November 2, 2008. His second application for Mainz 4 December 2010 was also his Bundesliga debut - the away game against Eintracht Frankfurt he won with his club by a caused by him in the 84th minute and Theofanis Gekas turned hand penalty with 1: 2.
At the end of 2012, Kirchhoff announced that he would not extend his expiring contract with 1. FSV Mainz 05.
FC Bayern Munich
Then on January 10, 2013 Kirchhoff signed a contract with FC Bayern Munich for the new season dated June 30, 2016 . On August 9, 2013 (1st match day) he made his Bundesliga debut for Bayern in the home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach when he came on for Bastian Schweinsteiger in the 73rd minute . On October 2, 2013 Kirchhoff made his UEFA Champions League debut when he came on again for Schweinsteiger in the 76th minute in Bayern's 3-1 win at Manchester City . During the first half of the 2013/14 season he was substituted on in a total of eleven competitive games. In view of its comparatively short operating times, the club management signaled its willingness to lend Kirchhoff in December 2013.
Loan to FC Schalke 04
In the 2013/14 winter break , Kirchhoff was loaned out to league rivals FC Schalke 04 for a year and a half . He traveled to the Schalke 04 training camp in Doha . On the second day of training, Kirchhoff injured his right ankle in a duel and was unable to continue training. After his early departure, a tear in the anterior syndesmosis was found in Munich by means of an MRI . After almost four months of injury, he made his first appearance in the Schalke jersey when he came on as a substitute in the game against SC Freiburg on matchday 33 .
Return to FC Bayern Munich
After his last appearance for Schalke 04 on May 16, 2015 , he had an operation on the Achilles tendon in June 2015 and finally got back into team training with Bayern on October 12, 2015. He made his comeback in the DFB Cup round of 16 on December 15, 2015 in a 1-0 home win against SV Darmstadt 98 when he was substituted on for Kingsley Coman in stoppage time. He also played a league game for the second team in the fourth-class Bavarian regional league .
Sunderland AFC
On January 7, 2016 Kirchhoff moved to the English first division club AFC Sunderland . He debuted on January 16, 2016 (22 Matchday) at the 1: 4 defeat in the away match against Tottenham Hotspur with Substitutes for Danny Graham in the 58th minute. Kirchhoff falsified a shot on his own goal in this game and caused a foul penalty . After he had played 15 point games in his first season, he came in the following season only seven times; at the end of the season he rose with the team from bottom of the table . His contract ran until June 30, 2017.
Bolton Wanderers
Kirchhoff was initially without a club after the end of the 2016/17 season. On February 22, 2018, he signed a contract with English second division team Bolton Wanderers that ran until the end of the season . After the end of the season he was initially without a club.
1. FC Magdeburg
At the beginning of January 2019, Kirchhoff joined the second division 1.FC Magdeburg until the end of the 2018/19 season , with whom he was relegated to the third division again.
KFC Uerdingen 05
In summer 2019, the defensive player received a two-year contract with KFC Uerdingen 05 . As part of the preparation for the season, head coach Heiko Vogel appointed him the new team captain.
National team
On November 13, 2007, he made his debut in the U18 national team in Weismain when he came on as a substitute for Mario Erb in the 72nd minute in the 4-0 win against Ireland . In his second international match for the U18s on November 15, 2007 in Haßfurt , also against Ireland, he scored an own goal to make it 0-1 in the 9th minute in the 3-2 defeat.
On September 7, 2008 he made his debut in the U19 national team , which won 5-0 in Varnsdorf against the selection of the Czech Republic. He scored his first international goal on October 11, 2008 in Salmrohr with the goal to make it 5-0 in the 55th minute against the selection of Lithuania.
For the U21 national team , with which he qualified for the U21 European Championship 2013 in 2012, he played for the first time on September 3, 2009. In the 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic in Mladá Boleslav , he made his first goal for this national team in the 72nd minute for the draw.
