Janet Brown
Janet McLuckie Brown (* 14. December 1923 in Rutherglen , Lanarkshire , Scotland , † 27. May 2011 in Hove , East Sussex , England ) was a British actress , through their Margaret Thatcher - imitations became known.
Life
Janet Brown was born in Rutherglen , Lanarkshire and attended the Rutherglen Academy there .
Career
Brown's career began with the television series Picture Book of the BBC Television in the 1950s.
Brown had one of her most notable appearances in the James Bond film On A Deadly Mission as Prime Minister. Another of their Thatcher imitations can be found on the 1990 Mike Oldfield album Amarok .
In 1986 she published her autobiography with Prime Mimicker .
Private life
Janet Brown was married to actor Peter Butterworth from 1947 until his death in 1979. They had two children together: a son, actor Tyler Butterworth , and their daughter Emma, who died in 1996 at the age of 34. She never married again after that. Brown lived from then on in Hove , East Sussex, where she died after a short illness in a nursing home at the age of 87.
