The Japanese men's national hockey team represents Japan on an international level, for example at the World Hockey Championship , the Champions Trophy or the Summer Olympics .

Japan has so far participated in the Olympic Games five times (1932, 1936, 1960, 1964, 1968) and four times in the World Championships (1971, 1973, 2002, 2006). The national hockey team has not yet qualified for the Champions Trophy . The greatest successes are the silver medal at the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and two bronze medals at the Asian Games in 1966 and 1970. Since 2009 the team has been coached by the Dutchman Siegfried Aikman .

Japan currently ranks 16th in the world - and 5th in Asia.
