Jaromír Dragan (born September 14, 1963 in Liptovský Mikuláš , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak ice hockey goalkeeper and current coach .

Career

Jaromír Dragan began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Partizán Liptovský Mikuláš , for whose senior team he made his debut in the 1st SNHL , the group of the Slovak part of the second Czechoslovak division, in the 1982/83 season . The following season the goalkeeper spent at Slovan ChZJD Bratislava in the first division , the highest Czechoslovak division. After he came only to a single use for Slovan, he left the club again and played from 1984 to 1986 for the second division HC Topoľčany .

In the summer of 1986 Dragan TJ VSŽ Košice joined, with whom he won the Czechoslovak championship in the 1987/88 season. In the following years he became one of the leading players in Košice and remained in the team after the newly founded Slovakian extra league was held for the first time following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia for the 1993/94 season . With Košice, the national player won the Slovak championship title in the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons . The 1997/98 season he also began in Košice, but ended it at HC Zlín in the Czech extra league . After a one-year break, he ran again in the 1999/2000 season for Košice in the Slovak extra league .

At the U18 Junior World Championship in 2006 , Dragan was one of the assistant coaches in Slovakia.

International

For Czechoslovakia Dragan took part in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , where he and his team won the bronze medal. As a substitute goalkeeper, he was not used during the tournament.

For Slovakia Dragan took part in the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer part. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the C-World Championship in 1994 , the B-World Championship in 1995 and the A-World Championship in 1996 and 1997 . In 1996 he competed for Slovakia at the World Cup of Hockey .
