Jaroslav Kahánek (born January 9, 1977 ) is a former Czech ski jumper .

On January 16, 1994, Kahánek made his debut in the ski jumping World Cup in his home town of Liberec . Two weeks later he was able to win the silver medal together with Jakub Sucháček , Jan Balcar and Zbyněk Krompolc at the Junior World Championship in team jumping in Breitenwang . After he subsequently achieved better and better performances in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup , he was a permanent member of the World Cup squad from the 1994/95 World Cup season. In the first competition of the season in Planica , Slovenia , he won his first World Cup points in 24th place. On January 26, 1995, he jumped in the Finnish Lahti for the first and only time of his career in a World Cup competition among the top ten and landed in 8th place. After more mediocre further placements in the season, he finished 43rd in the overall World Cup ranking. In the ski flying rating, he finished 44th. In the 1995/96 season he was rarely able to jump to challenging places. The best result was a 19th place in Chamonix, France . After no placements in the top twenty were achieved in the following season, he jumped his last World Cup competition on February 1, 1997 in Willingen and then started in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1997 in Trondheim , he reached 42nd place on the normal hill. After he could not achieve any more success in the Continental Cup until 1999, he ended his active ski jumping career there at the age of only 22 after a 99th place in the overall ranking of the 1998/99 season.
