Javier Aguirresarobe Zubía (born January 1, 1948 in Eibar , Spain ) is a Spanish cameraman .

Life

Aguirresarobe was born on January 1, 1948 in the Basque town of Éibar. He studied optics and journalism and then enrolled in the Escuela Oficial de Cine , which he graduated in 1973.

In 1978 he worked for the first time as a cameraman in a feature film, ¿Qué hace una chica como tú en un sitio como éste? . In total, he was involved in more than 90 productions.

Aguirresarobe has so far been awarded six Goyas for best camera . With the six awards he is the record holder in this competition. In 2002 and 2004 he was nominated for the European Film Award.
