Jay Boekelheide
Jay G. Boekelheide (* 13. May 1946 ) is an American film editor and sound designer who in 1984 the Oscar for best sound editor won.
Life
Jay Boekelheide, brother of the sound designer and film composer Todd Boekelheide , began his career in the Hollywood film industry in 1979, initially as an assistant editor at Apocalypse Now . After 1980 he worked mainly as a sound designer and was involved in the production of 35 films until 2010.
At the Academy Awards in 1984, he won the Oscar for best sound editing in The Right Stuff (1983) by Philip Kaufman with Sam Shepard , Scott Glenn and Ed Harris in the lead roles .
