Jean l'Aleman

Jean l'Aleman ( Johann the German ; † after 1264) was lord of Caesarea in the Kingdom of Jerusalem by marriage . As such he was also called John II of Caesarea .

He was a son of Werner von Egisheim and his wife Pavia Embriaco von Gibelet. His father was a German crusader who made a career in the French-speaking Kingdom of Jerusalem and was called Garnier l'Aleman ("Werner the German") there. After him, his descendants were also given the nickname "l'Aleman".

He married Margarethe Brisebarre of Caesarea, the daughter and heiress of Johann Brisebarre , Lord of Caesarea. From their right , he ruled the rule of Caesarea . With her he had three sons:

When he died, his eldest son Hugo was already dead, so his son Nicolas followed him as Lord of Caesarea.
