Jeju ( Jeju-si ) is the capital and social and economic center of the island province of Jeju-do in South Korea . The entire municipality takes up roughly the northern half of Jeju Island.

Jeju-si is the island's central transport hub. Jeju International Airport serves 13 national and 4 international destinations in Japan and China . Ferry routes are increasingly being replaced by airlines, but there are routes to six national destinations, of which Mokpo and Busan are the most important.
