Jennifer Lash

Jennifer Lash (born February 27, 1938 in Chichester , † December 28, 1993 in Odstock, Wiltshire ) was a British artist and writer . She was also known as Jini Fiennes .

life and work

In 1961 she published her first novella, The Burial . In 1962 she married the photographer Mark Fiennes . The actors Ralph and Joseph , the filmmakers Martha and Sophie and the composer Magnus Fiennes emerged from their marriage. She also had a foster son, the archaeologist Michael Emery.

In 1986 she found out about her breast cancer. After an operation, she made a pilgrimage from England via France to Santiago de Compostela (Spain). Lash died on December 28, 1993 at the age of 55 with her family in Odstock, Wiltshire. At their special request, the funeral was carried out by the Fiennes family themselves: the self-made, blue-painted coffin was taken to the cemetery in a VW bus, and the children carried the coffin to the grave.

Jennifer Lash's last book Blood Ties was published posthumously.
