Jeremy Allen Bonderman (born October 28, 1982 in Kennewick , Washington ) is an American baseball player who is currently without a club.

Career

Beginnings

Jeremy Bonderman was selected 26th by the Oakland Athletics in the 2001 MLB Draft while in high school . In Oakland, however, he was not used and was traded a year later on July 6, 2002 together with Carlos Peña and Franklyn Germán to the Detroit Tigers . When he finally made his debut in Major League Baseball against the Minnesota Twins there, he was 20 years old. This was followed by more missions but in his first season, the 2003 season, he ultimately had a bad record of six wins and 19 lots. In the last week of the season he was no longer used so that he would not have to be the first player in 23 years to collect 20 tickets in one year. In 2004 he played a lot better than the year before and in the end he had a record of 11-13 wins .

World Series 2006

In 2005 he was the Tigers' Opening Day Starting Pitcher and thus the youngest player to receive this honor since Dwight Gooden 1986. Overall, he finally threw even better than the previous season (14-13 wins). One of his best years followed in 2006, in which he had 14-8 wins and won the decisive game in the playoffs against the New York Yankees . Then he even managed to get into the World Series with the Tigers , which was lost to the St. Louis Cardinals . In the following year he was able to improve his performance again and was almost called up to the All-Star Team .

Injury and Free Agency

Bonderman completely missed the 2008 season due to a thrombus . He recovered only slowly from this illness and only made a few appearances in the 2009 season because he had recurring pain in his shoulder. It was only during the 2010 season that he returned to regular assignments. He was allowed to play 29 times from the start and had an ERA of 5.53. After the season ended, he became a free agent . Afterward, The Plain Dealer reported that the Cleveland Indians were considering signing him. But this rumor was not confirmed and he has remained without a club since then.
