Jeri Taylor

Jeri Cecile Taylor (born June 30, 1938 in Bloomington , Indiana ) is an American screenwriter and television producer. She gained particular fame through her contributions to Star Trek . Taylor studied English at Indiana University and California State University . She currently lives in Northern California .

Life

Jeri Taylor is the daughter of William Edward Suer and Ruah Loraze Suer .

Taylor has written scripts for various series such as Our Little Farm , The Incredible Hulk . She was a producer and director on the television series Quincy , The Flying Eye , Magnum , In the Heat of the Night , and Jake and McCabe - Through Thick and Thin . On the recommendation of Lee Sheldon , who she worked with on Quincy , Taylor joined the production team for Starship Enterprise: The Next Century early in season four, co- executive producing alongside Rick Berman and Michael Piller on the final season . During the last season, the three worked together on the development of the follow-up series Star Trek: Voyager and were hired as executive producers of the series. At the beginning of season two, Taylor became director of script production for the series and stayed that way until she retired at the end of season four , leaving that task to Brannon Braga .

Her first husband was the sports presenter Dick Enberg . She is currently in a relationship with David Moessinger . Taylor has two children, actress Amy Elizabeth Moessinger and actor Alexander Enberg , who played a Vulcan in both Starship Enterprise: The Next Century and Star Trek: Starship Voyager , among others .
