Jessica "Jessi" Combs (born July 27, 1980 in Rockerville , South Dakota ; † August 27, 2019 in the Alvord Desert , Oregon ) was an American racing driver , presenter and metal worker . Life

Jessi Combs was born to Jamie Combs and Nina Darrington in Rockerville, South Dakota. On October 9, 2013, Combs set a new land speed record for women on four wheels with the North American Eagle Supersonic Speed ​​Challenger in the Alvord Desert . The official reading was 398,954 mph (632 km / h) with a top speed of 440,709 mph (709 km / h). She topped the 48-year-old women's record of 308.51 mph set by Lee Breedlove in 1965. The Petersen Automotive Museum showed the special exhibition "Jessi Combs: Life at full speed" between 22nd and 25th September 2019 with free admission, the exhibition is also the starting shot for "The Jessi Combs Foundation".
