Jettingen is a district of the Jettingen-Scheppach market in the Swabian district of Günzburg ( Bavaria ).

history

St. Martin Church

Jettingen's existence is first documented in 1030. The village is mentioned under the name “Üetingen” in a deed of donation from the Guelph Count Welf II . In 1363 Jettingen received market rights . The place was the seat of a lordship and belonged to the Lords of Stain since 1460, and to Count Schenk von Stauffenberg since 1747 . With the Rhine Confederation Act in 1806 he came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, the municipal edict of 1818 created the political community of Jettingen.

On January 1, 1970, the Jettingen-Scheppach community was founded through the voluntary merger of the communities of Jettingen and Scheppach .

today

In what is by far the most populous place in the municipality is the seat of the municipal administration. This is also the focus of retail trade and medical and social care. There is the Eberlin Middle School and two crèches and kindergartens. The lively club life is particularly evident in the traditional costume and musical areas.
