Jo Weil
Johannes Hermann Bruno Anton "Jo" Weil (born August 29, 1977 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German theater and television actor and voice actor .
Life
Jo Weil is the son of a business graduate and a physiotherapist . He grew up with a three years younger brother in Petersberg and passed the Abitur at the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Schule in Fulda . After high school and community service , he attended drama school in Cologne and took private acting and singing lessons.
Weil played in TV productions and on the theater stage. He also took on modeling and moderation jobs and worked as a (dubbing) speaker. He wrote his own star column in the English lifestyle magazine “reFRESH” and is a volunteer ambassador for “Aidshilfe Köln”. As patron, Jo Weil supports the “Puzzle-of-Wishes” tour in 2009, during which children's wishes are fulfilled nationwide, as well as the “ Tagwerk ” campaign.
From November 2007, after a five-year break, Jo Weil could again be seen in the lead role of the homosexual Oliver Sabel in the early-evening series Verbotene Liebe .
After he was unsuccessful with his first single One More Try , published in 2002 , a cover version of the title of the same name by Timmy T from 1991, he presented his second single Explosiv on the ARD show Das Sommerfest am See on May 31, 2014 . The song is again a cover version, this time by Michael Morgan , who released the song in 2002.
In 2010 he took part in the cooking show The Perfect Celebrity Dinner .
Since August 2016, Weil has been hosting the Lifestyle format with Jo Weil on the online channel Wirtschaft TV. The first season was recorded in Palma . Guests were Thomas Rath , Natascha Ochsenknecht , Sila Sahin , Kristina Bach and Christian Polanc .
In 2017 he took part in the show Dance Dance Dance with Mirja du Mont as a dance partner . Since autumn 2018 he has taken on the role of Frank Farmer in the musical BODYGUARD at the Ronacher in Vienna.
In 2020, he came out as homosexual in an RTL interview. He has been in a relationship with his partner Tom for over ten years. On May 26, 2020, he told the TV program Nachtcafé about his coming out and the long years of hiding his homosexuality .
