He was the leading spirit and founder of Club Cobalto 49 ( Agrupació artística ), which brought young people together with the artists of his generation. He worked as a consultant in the art scene in Catalonia. He wrote numerous writings and, in addition to art and literature, also addressed philosophy, ethnology and anthropology. Shortly before his death, he was the main initiator of the Joan Miró Foundation, and with an extensive donation he laid the foundation for today's collection. In 1975, three years after his death, the Fundació Joan Miró - Center d'Estudis d'Art Contemporani opened its doors to the public in the Catalan capital of Barcelona. In 1976 the Galeria Joan Prats , which bears his name, was opened in Barcelona .
