Joanne Whalley (also known as Joanne Whalley-Kilmer , born August 25, 1961 in Salford , Greater Manchester ) is a British actress .

life and career

Joanne Whalley is known from some television series such as Scarlett (1994, alongside Timothy Dalton ), in which she played Scarlett O'Hara . Other series were Edge of Darkness (1980s) and The Singing Detective (1986), which were produced for the BBC . She has also appeared in some feature films such as Willow (1988, alongside Val Kilmer ). In the 1988 film The Murder of the Priests , she played alongside Christopher Lambert , Ed Harris and Pete Postlethwaite .

In the early 1980s, Whalley was a member of the music group Cindy & The Saffrons . In 1991 she was on the list of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World magazine People . In 2003, she worked for the song Stockholm Syndrome with the US - band blink-182 together.

Whalley was married to Val Kilmer , whom she met while filming Willow , from 1988 to 1996 . She moved to Hollywood for him and went by the name Joanne Whalley-Kilmer .
