Jodelle Micah Ferland (born October 9, 1994 in Nanaimo , British Columbia ) is a Canadian actress .

Life

Jodelle Ferland was born in British Columbia , Canada, to Valerie and Marc Ferland . She also has two siblings Marisha Ferland, also an actress, and the musician Jeremy Ferland.

Ferland made her film debut at the age of six in the 2000 television movie Mermaid , for which she received an Emmy nomination. This made her the youngest nominee in Emmy Awards history . She played other roles in the successful television series Smallville , Dark Angel and Stephen King's miniseries Kingdom Hospital . In 2004 she was cast for Terry Gilliams Tideland as Jeliza-Rose in her first leading role to date. The film premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival . It was followed by the video game - adaptation Silent Hill , where they the roles of Sharon DaSilva and Alessa Gillespie embodied. In 2007 she was nominated for the Genie Award in the category Best Actress for Tideland .

In 2009, Ferland stood next to Renée Zellweger for the horror film Case 39 in front of the camera. In 2010 she took on the role of the vampire Bree in the film adaptation of the novel Eclipse - Biss zum Abendrot .
