Johann Georg Kidler (also Johann Georg Khidler , Johann Georg Kittler and Johann Georg Küttler ) (* 1674 ; † January 29, 1706 in Munich ) was a German wine owner in Munich and a Bavarian freedom fighter .

Kidler's tavern was in the valley (today: house number 30). During the Bavarian popular uprising in 1705 he was one of the leading organizers of the Bavarian resistance .

Sendlinger Murder Christmas

On January 29, 1706, he was beheaded with the sword and quartered by the Austrians together with Johann Georg Aberle , Johann Clanze and Sebastian Senser on Schrannenplatz , today's Marienplatz . Johann Jäger , another leader of the uprising, was executed on March 17, 1706.

Today, Kidlerplatz and Kidlerstrasse in the Sendling district are reminiscent of Kidler .
