Johann Nepomuk Sauter

Johann Nepomuk Sauter-Huber (born June 29, 1766 on the island of Reichenau , Lake Constance ; † November 30, 1840 in Emmishofen , Kreuzlingen ) was a German surgeon .

Life

Johann Nepomuk Sauter came from the island of Reichenau and worked there as a shearer after training with a surgeon . In 1788 he worked as a country surgeon in Allensbach near Konstanz and in 1800 he became a princely landscape doctor in Reichenau. He later became a surgeon and medical advisor in Kreuzlingen. Sauter published in Constance in 1812 a much-noticed publication on the treatment of broken bones . In 1816 he acquired the " Ebersberg Castle " in Kreuzlingen and converted it into a stately villa.
