Johann Pacher (* around 1699; † March 14, 1773) was an Austrian baroque wood sculptor.

Life

Johann Pacher was probably born in 1699. In 1729 he is mentioned for the first time in a document on the occasion of his marriage to the St. Veit citizen daughter Maria Anastasia Ruckensattel. He died on March 14, 1773 at the age of 74. After Pacher's death, Johann Georg Hittinger took over the workshop.

Johann Pacher was involved in the implementation of numerous church furnishings in the area around Sankt Veit, in Upper Carinthia and in the Lavant Valley . The first documented work was the high altar for the 14 Holy Helper Church in Sankt Veit, which no longer exists today.
