Johann Serlinger († February 3, 1511 in Salzburg ) was nominated Bishop of Seckau .

Johann Serlinger came from a middle-class family. On November 28, 1480, he was appointed Bishop of Seckau by the Archbishop of Salzburg, Bernhard von Rohr . In the war between Emperor Friedrich III. and the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus had his diocese occupied by the Hungarians and the imperial troops. Therefore Serlinger neither came into the possession of his diocese nor was he ordained a bishop.

With the papal appointment of his successor Matthias Scheit on December 10, 1481, he resigned himself to his diocese. From 1492 Serlinger was chamber clerk and administrator of the cathedral custody in Salzburg. He retired around 1501 and wrote a catalog about the Salzburg archbishops. Around 1493 he should have received the parish Mooskirchen and the seat of Jagerberg as a fief.

Johann Serlinger died in Salzburg in 1511. He was buried in St. Peter's cemetery. Its epitaph shows a corpse eaten by worms and is of cultural and historical interest.
