Johannes Ehrmann

Johannes Ehrmann (* 1983 in Saarbrücken ) is a German journalist and writer.

Live and act

Ehrmann completed his studies of history and North American studies in Berlin and Philadelphia in 2007 with a Master of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania . Since then he has been working as a freelance journalist and author in Berlin. Ehrmann received the Grimme Online Award in 2013 for his authorship in the 11-Freunde- Liveticker . In 2014 he received the Theodor Wolff Prize of the German newspapers for his report essay "Wilder, weiter, Wedding", published in the Tagesspiegel .

In 2016, Ehrmann's debut novel Großer Bruder Zorn about the Berlin district of Wedding was published by Eichborn Verlag . Jens Bisky compared the novel in the Süddeutsche Zeitung with Jörg Fauser's Das Schlangenmaul and praised the “spoken language that develops its own suction, that has power”. David Nathan read in the audio book for the novel . The book Die Tinzigkeit des Glücks , a letter from the author to his twin daughters , was published in July 2017 .

Johannes Ehrmann is an active member of the national team of authors ( Autonama ).
