John Thomas Salley (born May 16, 1964 in New York ) is a retired American basketball player and actor .

Player career

John Salley began his career at the Georgia Institute of Technology , where he played for the "Yellow Jackets". With a total of 243 blocked throws, he holds the record at Georgia Tech. After Salley was selected in eleventh place in the 1986 NBA drafts by the Detroit Pistons , he moved to the North American professional league. In the following 14 years Salley played for the Detroit Pistons, Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers, among others . During this period he was able to win the NBA championship four times, came to 748 missions and scored 5228 points. Salley is the first NBA player to win the championship with three different clubs.

In 1996 Salley was under contract with Greek record champions Panathinaikos Athens for a short period of time .

Film career
