Jon Finch
Jon Finch (born March 2, 1942 in Caterham , Surrey , † December 28, 2012 in Hastings ) was a British actor .
Life
He had his greatest film success with his portrayals in Roman Polański's film Macbeth (1971) in the title role and in Alfred Hitchcock's film Frenzy (1972), in which he played a man who is falsely accused of murder. Finch also appeared in films such as Death on the Nile as well as in numerous BBC television productions. In the 1980s, he played leading roles in the German films Doctor Faustus , The Voice and Plaza Real . He was last seen in 2005 in the role of the Patriarch of Jerusalem , Heraclius of Caesarea , in Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven .
In 1972 Finch was suggested for the role of James Bond in Life and Let Die , but he turned the offer down. He originally also took on the role of "Kane" in Ridley Scott's Alien - The uncanny creature from a strange world (1979); However, he had to retire from production after two days of shooting because of life-threatening bronchitis and was replaced by John Hurt .
On December 28, 2012, Finch was found lifeless in his home after friends and loved ones worried about his health.
