Jorge Cardoso

Jorge Cardoso (born January 26, 1949 in Posadas , completely Jorge Rubén Cardoso Krieger ) is an Argentine composer , guitarist , music teacher and surgeon .

Cardoso has composed more than 400 works mainly for guitar to date . His “Milonga” is likely to have achieved the greatest popularity; this piece was recorded by David Russell on the Grammy-nominated album "Aire Latino" (Telarc) (2004). Cardoso's music can be heard on more than 170 recordings.

He wrote several musical and musicological writings, his most important textbook "Ciencia y método de la técnica guitarrística" (1973/74) was translated into several languages. As a guitarist, Cardoso won first prize at the “Primer Festival de la Música Litoraleña” at the age of 14, and other prizes followed. He was a professor at the Real Conservatorio de Musica de Madrid .
