Josef Ivar Müller

Josef Ivar Müller (born May 31, 1892 in Näfels ; † February 26, 1969 ) was a Swiss choir director and composer .

Müller was the son of a teacher. He completed his music studies ( piano and composition ) first in Zurich and later with Philipp Jarnach in Cologne . He then lived and worked in Bern . He was the conductor of the church choir at the Dreifaltigkeitskirche, the male choir “Liederkranz Bern” and the male choir Burgdorf. However, his main activity was composing.

His work includes smaller and larger choral works, several oratorios and masses, as well as instrumental music. Several of his works have been published by Symphonia Verlag Basel.
