Josef Mauracher

Josef Mauracher (born February 2, 1845 in Zell am Ziller , Tyrol ; † February 5, 1907 in St. Florian , Upper Austria ) was an Austrian organ builder from the Zillertal . He was the eldest of the three sons of the organ builder Matthäus Mauracher I from the Zell line of the Mauracher family .

Life

Josef set up a branch in Hohenbrunn (Sankt Florian parish) in 1880. On March 16, 1891 he was awarded the title of kuk court organ builder. After his death, his brother Matthäus Mauracher II (1859-1939) continued the business for a short time. Subsequently, it was continued by the widow, and finally by the sons Matthäus Mauracher III (1885–1954) and Anton Mauracher (1896–1962) under the name "Gebrüder Mauracher".
