Josef Rösing

Josef Rösing (born January 31, 1911 in Beuel ; † June 7, 1983 in Bonn ) was a German politician ( center , later CDU ).

Life and work

Rösing was a qualified economist by profession. From 1935 he was a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Bavaria Bonn . From 1939 to 1945 he was in the Wehrmacht and a prisoner of war. From 1949 to 1953 he worked as managing director of the center group in the German Bundestag .


Rösing party was a co-founder of the Center Party in 1945. In 1952/53 he was their general secretary. In 1954 he left the center. On June 6, 1955, he joined the CDU. 1962 to 1969 he was chairman of the CDU district association Bonn-Land.

Member of Parliament
Rösing belonged to the German Bundestag from January 14, 1954, when he replaced the deceased center member Franz Böhner , until 1961 and from June 30, 1965, when he replaced the deceased CDU member Friedrich Wilhelm Willeke , until 1972.

As a member of the Center Party, initially a non-attached MP , he joined the CDU / CSU parliamentary group as a guest on June 25, 1954 , which he also joined on June 6, 1955. From November 1955 to 1961 and from 1965 to 1972 he was Parliamentary Managing Director of the Union faction in the German Bundestag.
