Josefin Kristin Shakya , b. Pettersson-Fagrell , (born January 13, 1984 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player .

Career

At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , Josefin Pettersson won the bronze medal with the Swedish national team . At that time she was playing for the team at Richfield High School in Richfield , Minnesota . At the Olympic tournament in Salt Lake City she played in a row with Joa Elfsberg and center Evelina Samuelsson . In total, she made 49 international matches for Sweden, in which she scored three goals.

She later studied at St. Cloud State University and Gustavus Adolphus College , where she played for their ice hockey teams in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference , respectively, divisions of the National Collegiate Athletic Association .

She has been called Shakya since she got married and works as a physical therapist in Eagan , Minnesota . In her free time, she continues to play ice hockey.
