Joseph Addai Kwahu Duah, Jr. (* 3. May 1983 in Houston , Texas ) is a former American American football poker players in the position of running backs . He played six seasons for the Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League (NFL) and won the Super Bowl XLI with them .
Career
Addai played college football for Louisiana State University and was selected by the Indianapolis Colts as the 30th player in the 2006 first round of the NFL Draft . In his first season with the Colts, Addai was used together with Dominic Rhodes as a running back. Against the Philadelphia Eagles Addai scored four touchdowns in one game , setting both a club record and a record for rookies . With 1,081 yards in the running game , Addai led all rookies this season, although Rhodes was the nominal starter . The Colts qualified this year for the play-offs and reached there, after victories against the Kansas City Chiefs , the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots , the Super Bowl XLI . The Colts won the Super Bowl against the Chicago Bears , led by a strong running game by Addai and Rhodes. Addai also stood out for his qualities as a receiver by setting a new record for running backs in a Super Bowl with ten pass catches .
In the 2007 season , the Colts parted ways with Dominic Rhodes, and Addai became a starter in the running back position. In his second season he also ran over 1000 yards and established himself as one of the best running backs in the league. In 2008 he was unable to continue his previous years due to an injury. After the Colts selected Donald Brown in the first round in the NFL Draft in 2009 , Addai was able to assert himself against the rookie and remained a regular.
On May 6, 2012, Addai signed a one-year contract with the New England Patriots , but was released on July 25.
