Josh Radnor (* 29. July 1974 in Columbus , Ohio as Joshua Thomas Radnor ) is an American actor , director , musician , and screenwriter . He was best known for his leading role as Ted Mosby in the US sitcom How I Met Your Mother .

Life

Josh Radnor was born on July 29, 1974 in Columbus to the lawyer Alan Radnor and his wife Carol. He has two sisters, Melanie Radnor and Joanna Radnor Vilensky. Josh Radnor grew up in Bexley , a suburb of Columbus, and attended Bexley High School and later Kenyon College , where he was awarded the Paul Newman Acting Trophy . He also attended the Columbus Torah Academy Jewish Orthodox School and was educated in the spirit of conservative Judaism.

He currently lives in Los Angeles . In early February 2013, the separation from Julia Jones was confirmed.

Career

In 2001 Radnor was as lead actor for The WB - television series Off Center cast, but the role was later Eddie Kaye Thomas reassigned. In 2002 he made his Broadway debut in The Graduate . From 2005 to 2014, Radnor played the role of architect Ted Mosby in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother on the CBS television network .

In 2010 he directed his first film, HappyThankYouMorePlease , for which he also wrote the screenplay. Radnor also directed, wrote the screenplay and starred for Liberal Arts (2012).

Since How I Met Your Mother is Martin Halm Radnors German standard synchronous voice.

Radnor has been forming the duo "Radnor & Lee" together with the Australian singer-songwriter Ben Lee since 2016 . The music is a mix of indie, folk and pop. Radnor sings the first voice, Lee plays the guitar and sings the second voice. The first single "Be like the being" was released in May 2017.
