The Journal de 20 heures de TF1 (short form Le 20H ) is the daily news program of the first channel of the French television TF1 , live daily from 7:59 pm. "Le 20H" is the most watched television news program in Europe, ahead of TG1 on Rai 1 , BBC News at Ten on BBC One and the ARD Tagesschau . The news journal emerged from the previous program TF1 Actualités .

history

Since 2006 the Journal de 20 heures de TF1 has been the most watched TV news program in Europe. It is seen by an average of 6.53 million French people, 26.4% of the population, including 23.3% women under 50.

The program was initially broadcast live from the Billancourt studios in Boulogne-Billancourt in south-west Paris on TF1. From 1981 to June 1992, the broadcast was live from the studios on rue Cognacq-Jay 13-15 in the 7th arrondissement of Paris .

Since 1990 the main theme has been a composition by Gabriel Yared . This main theme could be a re-orchestration of a soundtrack from Great White Shark by Steven Spielberg (composed in 1975 by John Williams ).

Presenters

Gilles Bouleau has been presenting the 8pm news since June 4, 2012, Monday through Thursday. During his absence he is replaced by Julien Arnaud . On September 18, 2015, Anne-Claire Coudray replaced Claire Chazal, who has been the presenter of 8 p.m. weekend news (JTWE, Journal télévisé du weekend ) from Friday to Sunday. During her absence, she is replaced by Audrey Crespo-Mara .
