Juan Amenábar

Juan Amenábar Ruiz (born June 22, 1922 in Santiago de Chile , † February 3, 1999 ibid) was a Chilean composer.

Amenábar studied in Santiago with Jorge Urrutia Blondel . In addition to José Vicente Asuar , he did pioneering work in the field of musical electroacoustics. In 1991 he founded the Gabinete de Electroacústica para la Música de Arte (GEMA).

In addition to works for electronic music and film and stage music, he composed a. a. Choral works, an organ toccata , solo pieces for piano and violin , a concerto for recorder , harpsichord and string sextet, a quartet for flute, cello , piano and percussion , a duo for flute and violin and a piece for female voice and jazz ensemble.
