Julius Carl Erdmann Becher (born January 6, 1842 in Berlin ; † December 20, 1907 there ) was a German doctor .

Life

Julius Becher studied medicine in Würzburg and Berlin . In 1862 he became a member of the Corps Rhenania in Würzburg .

He graduated in 1865 in Berlin with the promotion of Dr. med. from.

From 1867 he was a resident doctor in Berlin. Here he published on several medical topics. His commitment was to promote professional interests and collegial club life. For many years he was chairman of the Berlin-Brandenburg Medical Association.

During the fever - epidemic in Stallupönen of 1868 he worked as Johanniter doctor . He was a participant in the German War and the Franco-German War .

Julius Becher died in Berlin in 1907 at the age of 65 of complications from pneumonia and was buried in the Old St. Matthew Cemetery in Schöneberg . In the course of the leveling of the cemetery carried out by the National Socialists in 1938/1939, his remains were reburied in the south-west cemetery in Stahnsdorf near Berlin. His grave there has been preserved.

Becher left behind his wife and three children, a daughter and two sons.
