Julius R. Haarhaus
Julius R. Haarhaus (* March 4, 1867 as Julius Rüttger Haarhaus in Barmen (now part of Wuppertal ), † August 19, 1947 in Leipzig ) was a German writer .
Life
Julius R. Haarhaus spent his youth in the Rhineland , particularly in the Villa Barthels in Bad Honnef, built in 1874 . He was taught by private tutors and attended a grammar school in Neuwied . Haarhaus completed an apprenticeship as a bookshop assistant in Bonn and then worked in this profession there and later in Leipzig . In 1893 he went on an extensive study trip through Italy . In Leipzig he later worked as a lecturer for “ Reclam's Universal Library ” and published the magazine “ Die Grenzboten ”. Haarhaus also wrote an extensive epic and narrative work of his own. His novels and stories often deal with topics from Rhenish history and the hunting environment . He was a member of the Leipzig Masonic Lodge Balduin zur Linde .
