history

The beginnings of today's company Köckerling go back to the master blacksmith Köckerling, who started his own forge in Varensell in 1883 . Arnold Köckerling took over the forge in the second generation in 1919 and expanded it until his retirement. Towed plows, harrows and other tillage equipment have already been built here.

On January 1, 1955, the businessman Heinrich and the engineer Friedrich Köckerling founded the Gebrüder Köckerling OHG in Verl. In the beginning, seedbed combinations and hoeing machines were manufactured. With the multi-unit “Super 2/53” and the “Ackerfreund” cultivation area, the Köckerling brothers presented their first series-ready tillage implements in 1955.

After various further developments, the course was set in the direction of minimal tillage for the first time in 1968 with the “Order Minimat”. The combination of mounted plow and seed drill made it possible to save unnecessary passes and changeover times and to protect the soil structure ("conservative tillage").

In 1982 Köckerling expanded its range in the direction of grassland maintenance. With the “Herbamat” sowing machine, it was possible to renew the grassland without breaking up. A grassland harrow followed later, which is still produced today as the "Grasmaster".

Köckerling met the increasing demands on performance and efficiency in the field of sowing technology in 1990 with the introduction of the pneumatic seed drill series "AT". With working widths of up to six meters, both mulch and no-till were no problem.

With the increasing production expansion, the production facility in Verl was supplemented by a new production hall. Since then, Köckerling has continued to specialize the product range in ploughless soil cultivation and has made a name for itself above all with the “Vario” mulch seed cultivator developed in 1996. In 2018 the company opened a new production site in the Delbrück district of Lippling. The coloring and final assembly of the machines is located at this location.
