Kakongo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kakongo was a central African kingdom on the Atlantic coast, with the capital Malembo .

Kakongo was bounded in the north by Loango , in the south by Ngoyo and the Kingdom of Congo and in the east by Pango and lay on the territory of what is now the Angolan exclave of Cabinda .

The kingdom was founded in the 15th century, but a short time later it contractually joined the expanding Congo as a state.
