Kalervo Tuukkanen (born October 14, 1909 in Mikkeli , † July 12, 1979 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish composer .

Tuukkanen studied at the University of Helsinki and was a student of Leevi Madetoja and Ilmari Krohn . From 1935 to 1938 he was a teacher of music history and theory at the University of Viipuri . From 1942 to 1944 he was Kapellmeister in Pori , after which he lived as a conductor and teacher in Helsinki. In 1945 he was one of the founders of the Finnish Composers' Association alongside Erik Bergman .

He composed six symphonies and a symphonic poem , several orchestral suites, two violin concertos and a cello concerto, cantatas , plays, radio plays and film music.
