Kaltenhof is a district of the municipality of Langendorf in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .
The village is not far from the Elbe flowing north and east of the B 191 .
The remains of the Dömitz railway bridge can be found near Kaltenhof . The bridge, which was destroyed in the Second World War , was built in the years 1870–1873.
history
In the 19th century, Kaltenhof was a Vorwerk owned by the Duke of Mecklenburg and before the construction of a permanent Elbe crossing it was the landing site of the ducal ferry from Dömitz. After 1945 the place came from Mecklenburg to the state of Lower Saxony .
On July 1, 1972, Kaltenhof was incorporated into the municipality of Langendorf together with Laase .
