Karel Nocar (born February 28, 1977 in Pilsen , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech handball player .

Nocar, who plays for the top French club Chambéry Savoie HB (number 6 on the back) and plays for the Czech national team (number 2 on the back ), is mostly used on the center backcourt .

Career

Karel Nocar began playing handball in his hometown at Kovopetrol Pilsen, where he also made his debut in the Czech premier league. There he won the Czech championship in 1998. In the same year he moved to Dukla Prague , 1999 back to Pilsen - albeit to city rivals HSC Pilsen - and in 2002 back to Dukla Prague, where he was again runner-up in 2003. He was then signed by the French top club Chambéry Savoie HB. There he became French runner-up in 2006 and reached the final of the French Cup in 2005.

Karel Nocar has played 182 international matches for the Czech national team so far. With the Czech Republic he took part in the 2007 men's handball world championship in Germany, but only finished 12th. At the European Handball Championship in Norway in 2008 , he was eliminated with his country after the preliminary round.
