Karersee (Welschnofen)
Karersee ( Italian Carezza al Lago ) is a place in the municipality of Welschnofen in South Tyrol .
location
The place lies between the Karersee and the Karerpass in the Dolomites , in the northeast and southeast overlooked by Rosengarten and Latemar . The altitude of the village is 1650 m .
economy
In Karersee, winter tourism is one of the most important economic factors alongside summer tourism. This can also be seen from the fact that in Welschnofen there are almost 1,400 beds for every 1700 inhabitants. However, there are still some livestock farms . The total agricultural area amounts to around 4194 ha.
Events
Karersee is internationally known for the annual winter triathlon , an extreme sport that has been held since 2007 and consists of touring skis , paragliders and mountain bikes .
