Karl Quidenus (born September 15, 1839 in Freudenthal , Austrian Silesia , † August 5, 1904 in Payerbach ) was an Austrian architect and city architect.

Life

Little information is available from the first half of Quidenus' life. There is only evidence that he attended the Polytechnic Institute in Vienna from 1858 to 1859 . In 1873 he obtained a master builder license and started his own private construction company. Although there is no evidence of a degree in architecture, he was accepted into the Austrian Association of Engineers and Architects in 1881 on the recommendation of Theodor Hoppe and carried the title of architect. In 1899 he retired from professional life. Quidenus was married and had six children; his son Franz Quidenus was also an architect.
