Karla Šlechtová (born May 22, 1977 in Karlsbad ) is a Czech economist and non-party politician. From 2017 to 2018 she was Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic.

Šlechtová studied at the economic faculty of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. She then worked as a project coordinator in Prague and Brussels . From 2005 to 2010 she worked as a consultant for the Deloitte consulting network . In February 2011 she started to work in the Ministry of Regional Development. After Minister Věra Jourová moved to the EU Commission in 2014, the ANO party proposed her as her successor in 2011 and was appointed Minister for Regional Development in the Bohuslav Sobotka government on October 8, 2014 .

In the 2017 House of Representatives election , she ran first on the list for the Pilsen Region and moved into the House of Representatives . On December 13, 2017, she was sworn in as Minister of Defense in the Andrej Babiš I government . On June 27, 2018, the government resigned from office.
