The Kassel School of Medicine is a medical degree provider founded in 2013 in Kassel, northern Hesse . As part of a cooperation between the Kassel Clinic and the University of Southampton , a five-year bilingual medical course based on the British model is offered, which ends with a Bachelor's degree. The students are enrolled at the University of Southampton and spend significant parts of their studies there. The first students were enrolled in the 2013/14 winter semester.

The Kassel School of Medicine was originally supposed to be established in October 2010. The project was postponed several times, however. a. The tuition fees, which are estimated at around 12,000 euros annually, were seen by the responsible local politicians of the SPD and Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen as "too high" and "socially unbalanced". On March 9, 2011, the supervisory board of Gesundheit Nordhessen Holding (GNH) , a municipal association and sponsor, nevertheless decided to found the facility with a large majority.
