Kateřina Valachová (born September 15, 1976 in Brno ) is a Czech lawyer and politician. From June 2015 to June 2017 she was Minister of Education under Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka .

Valachová studied at the juridical faculty of the Masaryk University in Brno and started as a lawyer at the Brno Magistrate to work. From 2002 she worked for the ombudsmen Otakar Motejl and Pavel Varvařovský . From 2006 to 2014 she taught administrative law at Masaryk University. In 2013 and 2014 she was director of the Senate Legal Department . She then became Deputy Minister for Human Rights, Equality and the Legislature, Jiří Dienstbier . After Marcel Chládek was recalled , Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka appointed Valachová as his successor in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports; she was sworn in on June 17, 2015.
