Katherine Waterston Boyer (* 3. March 1980 in London ) is an American actress .

life and career

Waterston was born to Lynn Louisa (nee Woodruff) and the actor Sam Waterston in London, where their American parents worked at the time. Her sister Elisabeth Waterston and her half-brother James Waterston are also actors, and her brother Graham Waterston is a director. She grew up mostly in Connecticut . Waterston later studied acting at New York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts .

From the mid-2000s she took on her first roles in film and television productions. In 2007 she played a small supporting role in Tony Gilroy's Michael Clayton , which also made her cinema debut. This was followed regularly by other appearances as a supporting actress in various film productions, before Waterston was able to take on a larger role for the first time in the film biography Steve Jobs (2015). 2016 she starred in the Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and where to find them are the Porpentina Goldstein , which represented her first major starring role. Waterston also took on the role of the sorceress in the sequel Fantastic Beasts: Grindelwald's Crimes (2018). In 2017 she also took on the lead role of Daniels in Ridley Scott's science fiction film Alien: Covenant .

Waterston was in a relationship with playwright and director Adam Rapp for six years . In 2018 it became known that she was expecting her first child.
