Katie Sarah Chapman (born June 15, 1982 in London ) is an English football player . The midfielder is under contract with Chelsea LFC and plays for the English national team .

Chapman began her career with the Millwall Lionesses when she was ten . As a 15-year-old she made the leap into the first team and won the cup and league cup competition . Chapman played for Fulham LFC between 2000 and 2004 and won the championship in 2003 and the Cup and League Cup in 2002 and 2003. In 2004 she moved to Charlton Athletic , with whom she was again cup winner in 2005 and league cup winner in 2006. Chapman has played for Arsenal since 2006. With Arsenal she won three championships and cup wins in a row as well as the league cup in 2007 and 2009. Her greatest success as a club player was Arsenal's victory in the 2007 UEFA Women's Cup . In January 2014, she moved to league rivals Chelsea.

In May 2000, Chapman made his debut in a game against Switzerland in the English national team. She took part in the European Championships in 2001, 2005 and 2009 as well as in the World Cup in 2007 . After a four and a half year international break, she made her 83rd game on March 6, 2015 at the Cyprus Cup 2015 , which England won for the third time. They were then also nominated for the English squad at the World Cup in Canada. In the group games she was initially only used in the opening game against France , but then in all games of the knockout round. With her team she managed to win against Germany for the first time in the game for third place , with England winning a World Cup medal for the first time after the men's World Cup victory in 1966.
