Katja Thimm

Katja Thimm (born February 15, 1969 in Cologne ) is a German journalist and author .

Life

Thimm grew up in the Rhineland and studied political science , Romance studies , modern history and public law in Bonn , Paris and Hamburg . After graduating , she completed a radio and television traineeship at the North German Broadcasting Corporation and was then accepted at the Henri Nannen School . During her training there, she worked as a freelancer in the culture and science editorial team of NDR television - among other things in the “editorial staff of cultural magazines”.

After completing the course, Thimm worked as an editor in Stern's international department before moving to Spiegel in 2000 . There she was initially employed as an editor in the science department; since 2009 she has been a reporter for the cultural department. In addition, Thimm is also a lecturer in the journalism master's program at the Hamburg Media School .
